KATIE IS A

MARKER SNIFFING

LESBIAN

Sometimes the truth is right under your nose…

Katie’s on track to dux - until she starts selling glow-in-the-dark Sharpies out of her locker. What begins as a low-stakes side hustle at an all-girls Catholic school spirals into a full-blown empire. The deeper she goes, the blurrier the lines get between ambition and obsession, friends and enemies, reality and Florence Nightingale.

Katie is a Marker Sniffing Lesbian is a fiercely queer, darkly funny coming-of-age play about pressure, rebellion, and what happens when you explode the box you were told to fit into.

Built by queer women and powered by chaos, this is theatre for anyone who’s ever had a panic attack in a blazer.

  • "An outrageous addition to the zeitgeist, ‘Katie is A Marker Sniffing Lesbian’ by Ada Lukin is a comedic home run that aptly dives into the psyche of teen girls, the awkwardness of self-discovery and the pressure to conform."

  • "It’s abundantly clear that Morris knows exactly how to pull an audience’s attention and have them look and listen to exactly what she wants them to."

  • "I want more. Lukin and Morris have created a colourful world, filled it with lovable characters, and quite frankly, I could watch another half hour of their chaos with ease and delight. If this is just the start of their creative development, as the team stated post-show, I am beyond excited to see what comes next."

  • "There’s a confidence in Indiah Morris’ direction that lets absurdity and honesty coexist on stage. The pacing is flawless, and the transitions often feel like their own narrative beats that blur the line between scene and interlude. Nothing is wasted, and every movement feels integral to the world. "
