SHELTER

WHERE DO WE COME FROM? WHERE DO WE GO?

SHELTER is The Drawer Productions answer to identity, family, and control – an immersive theatre piece that puts you ‘smack bang in the centre of a time capsule.’

The Chapman’s exist like any other modern family. Dinner at six-thirty. The children brush their teeth when their parents tell them. And most importantly…The bunker is to be hoovered fortnightly.

Perhaps, this family isn’t so normal.

Unlocked by the latest child in the Chapman line, you are led into the once-inhabited bunker that saw her grandparents live out the last of their days. Watch the daily routines, habits, and traditions of the family’s legacy persist throughout history. Questioning just how much control we have over who we become.

  • “Intricately woven, utterly impressive, and a crash-course in ancestral healing. Shelter deserves all the success it has had commercially and critically, as well as the success I am sure is coming in the near-future.”

  • "SHELTER is a powerful and moving performance. I’d encourage anyone interested in immersive theatre to check it out if it gets the opportunity to run again."
